Every year, Area 23 holds a downhill kart time-trial at the Prescott Hill hill climb circuit, arranged by Cheltenham. Each participating Table brings along their unpowered vehicle, some of which have been highly "tuned" over many years! This is always a great event, and we have some footage from the 2005 event below.
Highworth and Swindon 25Please note that Highworth and Cricklade 1063 and Swindon 25 Round Tables have merged, to become Highworth and Swindon 25. Area23 Karting Endurance Challenge
Around 50 Tablers representing 10 Tables turned up for the Karting Endurance Challenge at Gloucester. The driving got dirtier and more painful as the evening wore on! The eventual winners were Gloucester - that says something about their driving, although I'm not sure what... March 2005

Round Table supports many charities and local causes. We have a special interest in the ones below.

We need help to support us in granting wishes to these special children who will never experience adulthood, a privilege we all take for granted. Apart from fundraising, if you think you may be able to arrange something which could be an experience of a lifetime to one of these children, we'd love to hear from you. Donations of unused Air Miles are also gratefully accepted. And of course, if you know of a child in our area that we might be able to help in this way, please let us know.

Nolan Bone Marrow TrustFounded in 1974 as the first Register of volunteers willing to donate bone marrow in circumstances where a match cannot be found within a patient’s family, The Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust now holds one of the largest databases of unrelated donors in the world. The Trust owes its existence to the determination of Shirley Nolan, who established the Register in an attempt to save the life of her son, Anthony; a little boy born in 1971 suffering a rare bone marrow disease which left his immune system unable to fight infection.

Sadly, no matching donor was ever found for Anthony and he died in 1979 aged seven, but 1,000s of people happy and well throughout the world today owe their lives to Shirley’s tireless work. Round Table provided support in setting up the register, and continues to support the work of the Trust's tissue typing laboratory with fundraising activities.
