Valesman hits the streets

After months of secretive preparation, the new-format Valesman started dropping onto members' doormats at the beginning of March.

Well done Stuart!

This is a great format, but if we want more issues, we need some input! More importantly, we need an Editor!! Stuart is able to take care of the compiling and printing, but we need a budding news-hound, or someone who is willing to "encourage" their fellow Tablers to cough up some material. If you fancy a go at this (with Stuart's Green's help) let the Area Chairman know.

For everyone else, here's your chance for fame - plus since Supertable rule change - 20 points for every article or photo published!

Marathon Men

Jim-Jam JohnyJohn Francksen, Area Chairman and past Chaiman of Wotton-under-Edge 974, completed the London Marathon for the second time on 22nd April 2001. John achieved his target of a race time under 5 hours.

John was accompanied by another Wotton Tabler, Tim Colston. Last year, John raised £2,300 for Children's Wish. This year the pair ran to raise money for the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust.

Newent FM

Newent FMNewent Round Table recently supported a local community initiative to broadcast a community based radio station in Newent, Gloucestershire.

Newent Round Table provided financial support to cover costs of running the event. This assistance enabled members of the Forest of Dean Community Radio Project team to purchase technical equipment.

For a weekend in September, the surrounding areas of Newent were treated to a variety of local programmes. Special efforts had been made by the team to produce good quality local programmes.

Howard at Newent FMMembers of Newent Round Table were proud to participate and support the station during the broadcast as the main sponsors of NEWENT FM.
